Hi,
I'm starting a project on a 2003 L322 but have never so much as changed a wiper blade before so looking for some advice.
On the brakes I appreciate that there is rust on them but is that a definite red flag or is the severity of the rust...
My fuel pump will overflow even when not fully filled when I fill the truck up, I did the breather hose 3 months ago. I heard of a one way pressure relief valve being in the fuel tank to let the tank breathe.
I started it up a third time today...

I want to change my head unit because:
- it's an ugly modern aftermarket thing with incorrect backlighting
- I want dab and bluetooth
- the sound is dreadful, I need to amp up low gain in the HU equalizer settings to get it to sound ok but...

You do indeed have to make your own - not a very tricky part. I’ll get some pics if you need. It’s a touch different on 3 door. You’ve got 3 parts there really. You have the bottom of arch finisher - this has a hole in that you weld to the...
Thank you Brown, I appreciate the response. I started her up twice this morning, no noise, as if it was idling at operating temp.
Glow plugs, I did do the plugs two months ago, beru. The connecters snapped so I put the pieces together and heat...
Rdx electric fan and switch fitted with a custom made loom, temporary made brackets made to hold the new expansion water bottle and power steering bottle. New indicator and wiper stalks fitted and all of the electrics tested. A few gremlins...
From memory it's just the suspension needs setting - to ensure it's set to air or coils (as appropriate) and if on air it needs to have the heights set correctly.
There may be more than that, it's been years since I did it.
Depending on where...
Thanks. This engine is a sweet little lump if it's set up correctly, so that's worth doing. I don't suppose there's any easy way of measuring camshaft wear, though. Probably have to whip one out in order to to mic it up?
I wouldn't touch the top of that pump unless it has been off. Just the act if retightening can affect the idle. It is very sensitive. You'll need a volunteer in the car ready to kill the engine if you tap it too far and it starts revving its nuts...
Hello, thanks for your answer! I used the correct CHF 202 fluid.
I’m worried because after reading more, I realized I started the engine to bleed it, which isn’t the proper method.
What surprises me most is the huge amount of black sludge in the...
When you did the work on the steering pump etc., did you follow the correct method for bleeding the system after, without starting the engine? And using the correct fluid?
it acts in a well engineered manner on wheels and axles which is more complicated than the simple description from the WSM and i know that based on many live tests in field and dyno platform with live data readings , the gist is that the better...
then you should learn first how these things work cos TC acts in axle pairs too not just on one wheel so if the props are locked while for example a rear left and a front right whell are spinning the TC would try to equalise on each axle first...
