lynall replied to the thread 2012 or 2016 D4 Engine?.
That is a casting number, and not an engine number. You could try a little acid on where the engine number should be and see if anything shows up. Any pics of your pump and the incorrect pumps?

re-connect??? so it was once connected then disconnected by the PO??? 2001 modell might not have the "hardware" for that, are you sure you have what to "re-connect"? if the TB has the diff-lock spigot and working with a a spanner you are the only...

As long as you didnt cut the cdl input wire to the slabs like some smart guys say you should nothing bad can happen cos the TC will be inghibited to not work against the locked diff with the early ECU.. as about i have no other comment though...

Hi everyone, I bought a Freelander 2 2.2 TD4 with a blown engine – swapped the engine and it’s running great now. But there’s a horrible noise when turning the steering wheel, both when idle and while driving. I thought it was the power steering...

Brown replied to the thread Strange Start Up Noise - TD5.
I read on here many years go that TD5s start on 4 cylinders rather than 5, and then the ECU lets no. 5 injector start releasing fuel. Also, no. 5 cylinder doesn't have a glowplug, which might have something to do with this design feature. So I...

Might be a good idea to take apart and clean up all the other earths, so the tiny earth wire isn't the path of least resistance! The best thing to happen to my earth connecctions was when I treated myself to a battery powered angle grinder...

Hi there, new here, looking for some help with changing the CCF file on my Disco 4. It's a case of changing the audio to the premium sound setting for the surround sound. Before I go down the road of buying a laptop/software to do this myself, I...

Looking for assistance. I have bought a discovery 4 2016 chassis, expecting the car to have the same engine within. I am now 8 different water pumps in from all years from 2012 to 2016 and none fit. Have taken it to various ‘specialist’s’...

My clutch pedal started feeling spongy yesterday, and the bite point got nearer to the bottom of the pedal travel. Hmm. Not another gearbox out job I hope. On unscrewing the cap the problem became apparent: Not much fluid. I topped it up and...

Thank you Miktdish, Turns out I made an error in my haste this morning. The wire that is fried is actually the earth wire. Now, I thought about it for a while and wondered why the rest of my auxiliary bits didn't fry but my stereo did, and I...

That's exactly why it's recommended to fit genuine only when it comes to a TD5 tensioner.

Not based on any fact, but my guess would be with grooves slanted towards rear of car, then the inner end hits the pad first & at slightly slower rotational speed. Maybe less pad impact, therefore less noise & pad wear ?? Only real way to tell...

If you think the car is dangerous, why haven't you had it fixed? The car is even telling you there's a problem. All you have to do is plug in a code reader and the car will tell you what the problem is. Then you can fix it. Its a pretty...

We had something similar to that bearing wear once, on our old Series Forward Control. The rollers had 'peeled' themselves. I think they'd been case hardened to provide a more durable wearing surface, but over the life of the bearing, the fact...

Good luck! I'm almost done doing all that on mine. Good thing, once it is done, it is good for another 10-15 years! Also worth checking the cam shaft, the original ones wear out after 70k km or so, and so slowly that you don't necessarily realize it.
