A few months ago I replaced the Aux belt tensioner on my Defender TD5 with a cheap ebay one, it was fine for a few days but then the belt (which was also new) started screeching, I replaced the belt with a new dayco belt but it still screeched...

Yes, I too played it on my phone speaker sounds normal because how loud the engine is in general With headphones or earbuds you will definitely hear it. At the 12 second the noise will stop

Hi all, nice to meet you! My name is SmeRo and I live in the Netherlands close to The Hague. I recently bought a '87 RRC 3.5 EFI which could use some (a lot of) love. The plan so far is to replace the head gaskets and get it moving. It would...

Admittedly I'm listening on ****ty laptop speakers, but I don't hear anything in that video that I don't hear on my own Td5. Will listen again a bit louder when my boss has gone for lunch!

When im done with this that'll be both fronts done with new Timken bearings! I think the rears seemed ok last time I checked so hopefully they're good for a bit longer at least. The front axle breather was blocked so I think that's at least...

I had this 'issue' when I got my car a couple of years back. I ended up changing the ignition switch and fitting a proper relay. Before that, I ran a wire from the 'crank' position on the switch, out of the rubber bung behind the binnacle/dash...

I can't believe you've fitted the very same ebay special discs as mine this week. I've had grooved and dimpled discs on another car and, while you can hear the sound they make, it isn't irritating and the brakes feel more "immediate." Which I...

Hi Mikdish, Basically, I went to get in it this morning and realised that I left the sidelights on and the battery had drained- for some reason I decided to hold the key before it cranked and that's when the smoke started bellowing from the...

They are bloody heavy I know that! I would remove the whole cassette, easy enough but, again, very heavy. I've read of people using a ratchet strap through the doors and over the roof but I had 2 pairs of hands on the job. If you remove it there...

I am still a bit confused why you are holding the key between ignition and crank. If it's a 200tdi then it has a heater-plug relay, only the (older engines) 19j needs the 'hold' The 200A requirement is for the heater plugs 0.8mm needs a 10A...

Just been outside & checked mine. With HEVAC set to 16deg, the compressor engaged for 2-3 min & was getting cold air from the vents with a minute of starting. The compressor then cycled on & off roughly every 30-40 seconds. It will also...

Didn't do the sunroof panel when I did my headlining - it wasn't sagging or dirty. I suspect the sunroof mechanism needs to be lowered - wait for a few dry days !!

Nanocom will show all the HEVAC sensors. The evaporator sensor is in the right side of the heater box & shows how cold that's getting. If it's below 6deg, that as above check the flaps are moving to the cold position. The values of the...

Hi the wolf, This is where the confusion is- there was no chafing... The cable is far away from anything that it can arc on to- and it only sizzled the wire when I held the key in-between ignition and crank.

Yeah I have another kit so not a huge deal, I just planned to be lazy as I don't have that much time before I head off on friday. I think they're from the rollers, the inner race has marks too but not as bad, and they're only on one side of the...
