Hi, it needs programming to set it exactly to your vehicle's equipment unless it was removed from a 100% similar modell like your's which is quite unlikely and i doubt you can be sure of that
With the help of one of the Reg Transfer sites I have tracked this down. Owner wants 9K for a plate I paid 180 quid for from DVLA originally.

Jack one front wheel of the ground & try the switch. Chock rear wheels, put in natural hand brake off & see if the wheel spins
what ever way the wheel doenst spin thats it locked.

I fitted new front calipers, discs and pads today. The old sliders were solid and corrosion was merrily working away between the pad friction material and backing plate, giving occasional problems. All done proper now!
then fix the diff-lock switch or it's circuit as to make the warning to work cos even if you fit a mechanical linkage you can't be sure the diff is locked or unlocked unill the warning shows it's on or off, plenty of info about that...
