Checked the swivel preload (again) and filled both front hubs up with nice new grease. Changed the a frame balljoint (what a **** of a job), tightened the rear right wheel bearing, replaced the UJs on the rear prop, tried to see why my rear diff...
better off getting a later TDV8 L322 that will cruise at 80mph at 1100rpm, rather than trying to needlessly modify an utterly wánked out 22yr old L322.
Stop procrastinating & put yer money where your mouth is. Buy a set of diffs & chuck them in, you can have the last laugh if
it works or will you do a John Darwin disappearing act. 🤣 🤣
In your OP you say it’s to have a lower RPM when driving at highway speeds. Is this the sole reason then?
Would dropping down to say, 56mph not be a better option for you? It would be unlikely to add any considerable time to your journey -...
The valves would bend on impact so would not cause damage.
Normally if a belt/chain goes it would mark a few pistons not all of them
Have you had any head problems?
You're too late! I've done a deal myself for £7,350. And a big thanks to the guys who suggested it would polish up with some T-Cut because it does! The previous owner never, ever washed it so it got badly oxidized, but it scrubs-up nicely with...
I have answered this about 100 times now.
Ok not 100 times but it feels like that.
Go back to my original question and you'll see that I have no interest in fuel saving.
I very clearly explained my reasons in my initial question and multiple...
Dunno, nobody responded with their thoughts.
There are a few ways the IRD can be damaged - eg the RH drive shaft taking out its support bearing causing the diff to jam.
However, I'm confident most instances of IRD damage are due to wear in the...
HI All,
Can anyone shed some light on the following problem. FL2 fuel filter changed recommended every 12 months filter was primed but may not enough. Filter and lines have been bleed using hand pump. injectors hoses have been bleed also...
So 26 pages so far. This has probably already been answered, but..
Why? I’m genuinely curious now. The time, effort and cost to purely save a few £££ and run your car at 1100rpm vs 1300rpm barely seems worth it.
If this is purely a cost saving...
Most cars run the speedo off the gearbox so that is why I assumed that with the L322.
In that case changing the differential ratio does affect the speedo.
Maybe you didn't know that, but you can look at the attached image for that fact.
But...
