The SC has an 8 speed gearbox. I think the 2.76 diffs are from a diesel L322. The oil was dark when I changed it but I have no reason to suspect that the internal diffs are not OK. But on my latest MOT they noted the rust on the diffs as a...

You are not the first person to suggest that. I am happy not to have door cards but passengers and the wife, who are used to modern plastic cars, seem to think that is rather uncivilised.

I am not the first person to modify a Range Rover to better suit their specific needs. In fact Range Rover changed from a five speed gearbox to a six speed gearbox to an eight speed gearbox. I don't see any problem with improving something...

Are britpart making chrome wones again now? There was a time where they only did the teflon ones, although they are reasonable and I have had no problems with them on my 110.

Thanks for the replies. Went to an aircon specialist. Understandably they are very busy atm but he recycled the gas and checked for vacuum. System had the right amount of gas and the pressure seems good. High and low pressure are hot and cold...

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Cam position sensor changed and Throttle position sensor changed. Local garage has had it on today and had trouble reading the OBD port and have said about a break in the cam line ? Not a term I have heard before. Would...

Clearly you are the first person in history to use a Range Rover for a long journey. You should share your idea so that other people can now use such vehicles without worry too.....

Don't forget it checks it's own height over the time it is locked. If your parked on anything other than level ground it'll always try to even itself out. 👍

Fair point kiddo. You'll have to let us know how you get on👍

The guy that I bought the car off had died two years earlier and his widow sold it to me and she was German and barely spoke English. I have no idea what it was used for. I noticed many strange things with the car such as the rear right height...

I'm not dropping revs or running at higher revs. With my current differentials at 70mph on the motorway it runs at about 1,300 RPM. With the 2.76 diffs it will run at maybe 1,100 RPM. So a lower RPM for long trips. I would not put more stress on...

I was feeling quite smug there until you got to the clutch. 30 or 40 years ago, perhaps ? With regard to Halfords, my Wife paid £25 to have them change the battery on her late model Zafira, money well spent in my opinion.

cheers J, Thanks for the info, I jumped on the valve block as it doesn't move when parked overnight or over the weekend when in extended height and locked. I i leave it in any other height it drops to entry height. The suggestion that an airbag...

If I cannot find out the details of the o-ring (if that is the correct solution) then I will probably have to use the sealant. As it is not leaking massively at the moment I can give it some time to see if someone has the answer. I will also...

Sealant can mean any sealant including silicone. Gasket sealant is a special product designed to mimic a gasket. Therefore if there was a gasket there then it would mimic that gasket and achieve the same result. I don't know if it normally has...

This info is a little confusing kiddo. If your dropping the revs on the motorway, how are you running at higher revs as well? One thing that will happen is an amount of extra strain on the rest of the transmission dealing with the extra pull...

There is zero load on that motor. I'm not an expert on the epb but I would checking that everything is connected properly, no broken cables etc. It won't just be going backwards because it feels like it, it will be operating this way because a...

There are many people out there that don't know how to use a spanner, the fact that you do and that you are willing to change a battery yourself, puts you into a minority. If you know how to, and are willing to, change a shock absorber or brake...
