    I refurbed mine recently, just happened to have a tin of blue enamel boat paint in garage, used cup wheel on outside, few costs of primer and this paint went on beautiful, colour match close enough for me

    No battery management on 2005 and that year is not set up for AGM batteries best stick to lead acid.

    I went for the cheap option, only about £300! I got one of those chinese made Static arc MIGs and bit the bullet and got a proper gas bottle to go with as I knew I needed to go gas really. But it totally paid for itself just for this one job so...

    Seriously though if you are paying and the rest of the chassis is OK then bite the bullet and get the crossmember replaced , if it's a keeper.

    I bought a welder especially to do the same job. Ok it cost about £500 or so but cheaper than paying for welding.

    Aha, OK one word of advice is to let the shoes cool between stops. Depending on the quality of the shoe they can overheat and shed the material 😱

    Addition to the previous one: The catalytic converter has the identification ESR2580, which I can only find on some old ones that have been cut off.

    On machinery etc yes different colours, but think std colour was always black.
