Hi all! My new lightweight's got a 2.5 Diahatsu Diesel engine with twin tanks and it's got a bit of a thing for intermittently stalling. I've been told that it might be air leaking in to the fuel system from the change over valve, and to try...

I have an excess of soot on all plugs. I will pull all 4 tomorrow and take a picture (hopefully a decent one) to show y'all. I have a set of BPE5 plugs I could put in to see if they stay cleaner as they run hotter, but the book does say BPE6's...

Not very often, fortunately, I get "one of those jobs" ! Offered to replace a strut top mount for a mate. Both strut to hub bolts and nuts seized solid, like they had become one piece of metal. My 350 + ft lb impact driver wouldn't touch it. Nut...

I've had more than ten Minis, gave up counting I've only ever had one that ran with light brown plugs and it burned an exhaust valve out. If you're anywhere from light grey to black without soot then it'll be fine :)

Sniff your exhaust, see if it smells of petrol and try weakening the mixture a bit. and keep doing proper plug cuts until they get to the proper brown colour.

Flipping quote for house insurance has gone the roof!:mad::mad: This is for the UK house. Obvs we have to pay two, one for each house, and in each case it prolly costs more cos we is away from the place 6 months a year. Policy gone up from...

I admire your optimism. So, to recap, the car made the ‘big bang’ when accelerating in a forward gear. It will still engage and drive forwards but, since it made the noise, it will no longer engage or drive in reverse. Is that correct? Phil

The connection on the plenum is for the vacuum hose mentioned in my post #2 No idea on the other (cut) one. I'll have a look next time I'm around mine, though being a 3.5efi it might be different.

Looking at the pic the manufacturer hasn't put chf202 on the product where it lists the spec. Sellers of said product say it's for use where chf202 is required. They also use list many more spec's that the manufacturer doesn't. That always makes...

Yes indeed, it left no trace. The oil is still clear from the last change so no black trail. I did put a tell-tale there and it came away clean and dry (still is) but after tightening the cover T-bolt a bit more the seep/leak has clearly stopped.
