    We are talking about the piston in the carburettor, as of course you are aware and are just taking the "piston"! Air filter off of course. ;)

    The over reving may be due to the clutch switch. Do you have cruise control? If so engage it then depress the clutch and it should turn off. Griff

    I don't think so, it is the same tension I would have put on it previously with the old slider. But surely over tensioning would effect the bearings not the charging ability? It is still spinning and not making any noises.

    Got the RL off too. Much the same condition. No real signs of perishing. Will Keep as a spare. Spent the rest of the time cleaning underneath and rust treatment of what little corrosion there seems to be.
