Jury is out at the moment, makes the front look quite busy? Its getting doors, bonnet, tyres, hood and paint this summer so might look right when the rest of it doesnt look so tatty?

Got some more options, the bull bar is getting galvanised. Keep in mind guys its a 1985 Ninety so they are pretty much period correct, when Im done it will be more series than modern day Defender.

The second picture is the best bet, with the driving lights on the outer edge but above the bumper, out of harms way.

I think you are right, it doesnt go off road but they will get mullered under the bumper. I will have to flip them and weld some mounts to fix to the bull bar, it should get them sitting better.

So I think we have a winner, I will get to work welding the mounts onto it, its getting blasted this week then hopefully galvanised if I can get a fair quote on it, they wanted 150 quid if they blasted it too but thats a bit high I think.

Yes - I go with your choice but would spray the lamp covers to either match the body or otherwise tone down. Looks like a poser's truck otherwise..."Look At My Stuff".

I'd lose the lower rectangular set. I'm old enough to remember them first time around, low mounted spots always seemed to be getting damaged. Great looking land otherwise.

I was going to say periodically correct and I'd leave the covers on unless they're in use, I love the old 80's rally cars with all the lights on the front. I'd put the rectangular lights below the bumper and the round ones above, fitted directly to the bumper towards the centre and leave the bull bar off.
I'm slowly convincing my lad to change the huge wrap round bull on his defender for an A bar.

I lile the round spotlamps on the bar as they always look better there. Maybe it's because they line up with the main headlamps.
Square ones (fog lamps?) Look best directly on the bumper (under looks wrong on a landy) under the headlamps. They fit nicely between the bar and bumper. If they are fogs, then in this position you can legally run them with dipped beam off in thick fog.
