Because if I need to replace my lights with LHD ones, I don't want to have to buy a new set of xenon headlights - €€€€€!
Halogens seem to be available second hand, I have yet to see a set of LHD xenons second hand.........

As far as I am aware you don't need to change the lights , there is a facility to do so within the headlight housing. I'm sure one of the Gurus will tell me if I'm right or wrong.

Not wrong, but has been discussed...we are not sure if the Frogs will consider that as 'acceptable' for a 'permenant' resident car rather than a 'visitor'

Hi Keith - what modification did you do?
I am going to take a closer look at the innards of my L322 lights and see if I can cut away a bit of the mask to create the LHD beam pattern - by observing what the lever does that masks the high part of the RHD beam pattern I should be able to work out the geometry!

Remember P38 headlights are not HID's so my mod will not apply, but if you look at the plastic moulding where the dip bulb fits, there are 3 slots where the tangs on the bulb fit, 2 are wide but the top one is a close fit. If you look closely you can see a moulding mark where the slot would be for LHD, either cut the plastic so the bulb will rotate to the alternate position, or if you are lazy like me bend the top tang back and rotate the bulb to the alternate position. This gives the LHD light pattern, not perfect but good enough, then just a little realignment of the lights and job done.. Easy to flip back when in the UK as well.
