I consider my attitude far more colloquial than yours.

Again, I don't consider a post relating to the subject matter of the
group spam. If you do then fair enough but you should be prepared to not
have every single post you read follow your own rules, this is usenet
and is to be expected. I cross-posted to appropriate groups, an
inappropriate group would be A.B.P.Sex.Fetish but I consider that
spamming so I didnt.

I don't expect language like that on usenet, on a website that has a
warning maybe. Do you believe that every impressionable child using a
computer on the internet is supervised?

Lastly, glad you think my "pathetic site" is worthy of your attention, I
would question how pathetic it can be when compared to
www.italiancar.co.uk but I wouldnt wish to sink to your level.

Difference is that I don't go spamming my site to the whole of Usenet.
It exists only as a photo site for those interested, mainly those who've

You're talking about a section of the internet which has groups full of porn
binaries etc., amongst other things - and it's all unregulated (at least to
a certain extent) - but most importantly, it is as easy to access NGs like
those, as it is this one, and not being funny, but I somehow doubt that the
first NG an impressional child will scan for, is one for car maintenance.

If your child is likely to read this NG and you give a feck as to what
blasphemous content it contains, well then more fool you for not exercising
your parental responsibilities.

Heh. I know it's pathetic. I can't code HTML to save my life, but what I
do a lot of is taking photos. Which is all my 'site' is - just somewhere
to stuff photos for interested parties to look at.

When usenet first started I remember getting a bit disappointed with how
much it was going downhill, been away from it so long I had forgotten
why I didnt use it anymore. Thanks for reminding me.

The link proves what is and what isnt spamming, your own personal
opinion in this case means nothing I'm afraid.

I would say that I'm sure I've been around usenet longer than you but I
find cock competitions a little vulgar and also, how the hell would I
know how long you've been using it?

All that link proves is one site's definition of spam.

In reality, Spam is any unwanted posting advertising an inappropriate
product / service / site.

Advertising a Bulletin Board (and a **** one at that) on a Usenet group
could well be considered inappropriate, and therefore spam.

Cross posting to several groups is most definitely spam. I'm actually
surprised it got past the German server's spam filters - but they're not
what they used to be.

It's funny, isn't it, you've just popped up from nowhere advertising
your own site. No posting history to any of the groups I subscribe to,
but yet you saw fit to spam the groups with your website.

No-one is an admistrator, but some people posting to Usenet feel that
it's worth upholding the basic principles of the groups they subscribe
to.

Heh.... see, this is the thing. It would be tolerated for you to post a
link to one of your crapfrenchcar.com sites as you're a regular poster
to the group. Someone who appears from no-where posting links to their
own site is just a spamming ****.

i disagree, i think subsilver is better than the trushkin theme. Also it
makes it more difficult to install mods which is obviously what the
webmaster of that site found out shown by the fact there arent any.

Oh and theres a bit of a security flaw with 2.0.6, you may want to
update to 2.0.10

Actually its a term I thought I made up on the spot, but thats generally
what it means. The self regulating nature of the system means that swearing
a lot and trying to be as offensive as possible stops people doing silly
things so much.

Lets use a bad car related analogy as these all seem to be car related
groups. Say, if you were a cyclist <spit> and I was in my car and I saw you
cycle up beside me at some traffic lights, ride through a red light, turn
right where there is a sign specifically stating such an action is
prohibited then mount the pavement at the other side of the road jauntily
and carry on your merry way I'd swear a lot at you and generally try to be
as unpleasant as possible, probably in the vain hope that you'd think twice
before pulling such an unbelieveably stupid manouvre again.

I'm not saying thats the morally right thing to do, but I'd probably still
do it, even if it happened only yesterday. (c:
