Evening, as a serious question, would I be daft removing the carpets and the foam soundproofing from inside my discovery 1 v8? I hope to be doing a lot more off roading and wading so the thought of soggy wet carpets etc really don't appeal to me. Also the damage caused by the water under carpet yes you know the culprit the RUST
Let me know your thoughts
Cheers guys

I wouldn't do this to a nice tidy Disco but
I took all the carpets out of my previous Tdi, used odourless fish oil to treat the floors then just put a couple of small mats on the floor to wipe feet on and to save constantly rubbing the coating of fish oil through. Didn't seem to make a lot of difference to the in cabin noise.

Cheers Gazbo, I must admit the only concern is had was road noise, so I will get my Stanley knife out and do some cutting, the carpets are shot anyway so won't be trashing decent ones

I cut my current Disco's just a little way up the sides of the tranny tunnel, left the bits over the rear wheel arches and just removed all the floor carpets and insulation, so the noise isn't too bad, don't have the under bonnet insulation either, it's ok, not Rolls Royce silent but being a diesel Landy it ain't ever going to be quite.
