just rebuilt engine after oil pump bolt failed and now the thing wont start,:mad:its a late (03) td5 auto, any basic steps to look at first as my mate the mechanic is a bit puzzled and kept saying it should go this time, better add, its had new turbo, crank reground and new bearings, head off, engine totally stripped, new oil pump and chain and pulley. fuel is getting into engine bay but it just wont go, pretty sure everything is plugged in correctly etc, cheers, one unhappy teddy, Foz. its turning over but not not starting.

Have you checked the fuel cut off switch hasn't been tripped?

Can you hear the in tank fuel pump running?

Is it noisey?

Is it making any attempt to start?

were the injectors removed?

If they were removed were they each put back in the same cylinder they came from?

fuel cut off has been reset (button on bulkhead), fuel is getting pumped into engine bay, it aint unusually noisy nor is it making any attempt to start. The injectors were not removed from head, top end was left pretty much alone, only removed what whas ness to get crank out, pistons stayed in, camshaft stayed in head, im off back down garage soon to have another look, cheers ratty

swapped the crank sensor for a known good one, still no joy. waiting for a bloke with dealer type diagnostics to av a look cos everyone else is stumped.
