recently acquired a rangerover 2000 model 2.5td hse had a flat battery charged the battery used the eka code and resynched the key fob went to start the engine only to be greeted by a series of warning messages and a clicking followed by the lights flashing and the horn honking wouldnt turn over so despite hours of research found out that it could be as simple as not enough power in the battery has anyone else had this and to replace the battery what is the cca needed as the old one has no writing or stickers on it and everything ive read so far differs any help would be appreciated and please no nasty comments thank you in advance

Go to eurocarparts, put your registration in and look up battery. It will tell you which you need.

P.s easiest way to get 'nasty comments' (or banter as it is usually known) , is to demand no-one makes any.

found via putting in make model and such reg number found no products also if you have any clue as to what could be causing the rest if not the battery advice is welcome ty

You want the biggest capacity biggest amp hour that will fit 1000cca 120ah is the one try looking at mf31 1000 battery's
battery megastore are good or tanyabattery`s

Thx,
Been in Hospital, head wound.......keyboard injury brought on by reading unpunctuated posts,
took ages to see a Doc, apparently I was shifted to lower case status but they've agreed to keep tabs on me for a while to see if I regain full ctrl of my senses.
I exclaimed I'd never had full ctrl of them in the first place!
:D

Classic myfirst:cool:

That's what they need, these P38s - petrol or diesel - a whacking great battery to frighten the life out them and make them behave.

Otherwise they'll be like Gaz 'n' Leccy off the telly. Getting up to allsorts and having a high old time with you.

Force you to come on here in such disarray that you leave all punctuation behind etc, etc.

It's a well known condition.

If it we're me I'd get a good quality battery from somewhere( ecp or anywhere). I got a Halfords and there ok but mine went tits up 2years in, easy swap though. I expect the new one not to last. Better quality will stand the slow drain and recharge that these trucks inevitably have. Cheap crap sulfates in very short order. One advantage of Halfords is they are honest about swaps and any branch will do it. I had a calcium battery previously as an upgrade.... Don't do it. 6 months it was creamed. Took it back to Halfords the guy said which idiot gave you that? I took him over to the flip chart and showed him the page... he said sorry mate let me find the biggest normal battery that will fit!. Think quality Bosch silver etc but normal lead acid. The alternators won't charge calcium.

I found that too. 12 months it and the car were not happy
