Hi, not been on the forum for a while. Car had been running very well! But today I tried changing the diesel filter and now the car will not start. Freelander is a 1 version made in 2003. I've tried the following.
-Letting the wheel arch pump run four times. Each time till ECU turns off the pump. After the fourth attempt tried cranking.
-opening up a pipe from the fuel line rail to see if there is fuel running to engine which it is when priming the fuel pump under wheel.
-losening sediment filter plug to check for air?
-Cranking engine for over 30 secs several times. Now flattened battery.
So, when the low pressure pump starts there is a little gurgling sound and a change of tone which suggests there is air in the system. How do you get this air out? Its a nightmare trying to get this working. A thread on here suggested taking off the return line but where from?
I also cleaned the inlet manifold. Did I put the fuel line rail sensor plug on the right way? The push button on the top?
I'm pulling my hair out over this. Many thanks. Shaun
