Comes in two sections I was wondering if the first section would still fit on the cleaner if you knew cos I don't have the other part was gana just mount the cleaner on bulkhead solve 2 problems of not buying new hose or all the brackets and mounts just make something to hold it on bulkhead

Also, the thing I'm really not sure of - would they have changed the harness when they did the engine conversion? Should I be looking for a 300tdi harness?

There wouldn't need to be any loom changes to go from 2.5NA to 300tdi - it has all the same connections, one for the starter solenoid, glow plugs oil and temperature, most that would have been needed would be to change the terminals on the temp sensor as it would have been blade but 300tdi was a round bullet type pin, alt may have needed a ring terminal fitted for the exciter wire but that's it - no reason whatsoever to fit a new loom for this engine mod.

Looking at the loom from the distance the photo is taken from most of it, it looks very much the same as my 1990 loom which was a 2.5 petrol but it was the same loom for the 2.5NA they just didn't connect things like glow plug relays.

I'd just get in amongst the loom and tidy it all up. Blocks of 8 with only 2 wires to be honest sound about right, LR did this, used a standard plug but didn't populate all pins - 2 out of 8 seems a bit odd but can you actually see cut wires?

Bear in mind there are lots of unused circuits in a standard loom - sometimes people just get rid of stuff if they get in a big of a jumble and want to tidy up.

They changed this in the late 80's - about 88/89 from what I have seen so he could be blades. I have a 1990 with blades I have owned it since 2005 and my friend had is from 2000 - it came to him stock so no messing had happened.

Your engine is in the 2.5NA position (much further back than a 300tdi would be stock) now that vehicle would have had an LT77 - without seeing the bellhousing I can't be sure, but there is the chance that someone fitted an R380 short shaft - or stumpy as they were called, usually used in MOD vehicles. I bought one of these from Ashcrofts because I have 300tdi in my 1990 90 it was on an LT77 which I knew would pack up, and when it did I just went for the short shaft so I could just do a direct swap but I wanted an R380 to deal with the 300tdi increased torque and HP.

Thanks for all the help. My main concern was changing the main loom and what to change it for, so looks like changing it out for a 300tdi is the best option. The engine loom seems standard for 300tdi.

If everything in the cab hooks up nicely too, thats all sorted

Going to really look at the loom and what i've got in the landy and decide if i need to get a new loom, or if i can neatly fix up the existing wiring.
