Wipers not working, but washers are

That looks like a starter relay.
Green I think are the heater control.

Make sure then purple wires are covered as they are live

With the rats nest, if I only care about the wiper motor and the horn, will either of them likely need grounding or routing into a fuse? It'd be great to get rid of the many redundant connections.
 
Should've also asked, do these just pull off the back of the fuse box plate or are they connected in some fancy way?

Well that grey looking 1 is the started relay. The 1 with the white/red cable to it
Unsure what that ray in the dash is now
The relays just slide off.

Have you found an indicator relay?

Look on the stalk for the colours you are looking for. Think there are 2 plugs
 
Found an indicator relay flopping around yes and that’s all working as required.

What else will the relays be on the back of the fuse box if not the starter and indicators which I’ve already identified?

On the early glass fused motors you can’t have the fog lights & high beam on at the same time. This may be 1 of the other relays.
