I understand I need to get to the underside of the hinge to remove old mirror, i have seen several versions of how to do this, I have a 2008 110 with a full door trim, do I have to remove the whole trim or just enough to get a ring spanner on the inside nuts? , do I loosen these and shut the door with the window open to keep door alignment or try and find a suitable object to prop the open door?
If performing this with the door shut can the internal nuts still be reached?
I can see a simple job ending in tears, ... I have ten thumbs , it's nice to hear from someone who has done this
Thanks in anticipation

prop the door up whilst its open ,on early models you can get an open ended spanner in to hold the nuts by prising door card out a little ,not sure on an 08 as havent done one

Don’t forget to support the door when you take out the hinge bolts, or the door will drop. Put an jack under it, or similar, and give it a bit of lift when putting the bolts back
Take out the door trim panel to have access to the hinge nuts.
Take out first the screw located at the door latch to take out the plastic cover behind the latchcover, then the plastic piece that cover the lock and carefully with a screw driver release all the plastic screws that attahch the trim to the door.
Take out the bolts an nut and be carerefully to support the door
Install the mirror assy.
Put the door trim panel again

For info of anyone else undertaking this, with the trim removed and window open you can shut the door and remove the top hinge bolts with a spanner inside held from outside the vehicle... No need for all that propping malarkey
