Wipers run fine, park OK, both speeds work, but they park too high up the screen and don't wipe far enough to the right.
It will probably pass the MOT next month OK, but what do I need to fix so they swipe a proper arc ?
Thanks,
Pete

I would have thought when in park ,take wiper arms of put in New park position then thay will travel further to the right my need a puller to get them off

Yes, I considered that, but that leaves the arc with same sweep. I need to widen the arc so it wipes more of the screen both ways.

I am guessing this is a wiper gearbox issue.

It doe's sound like there is a lot of "slop" in the system. Can you move arm by hand to full sweep and usual park position?
If so there can be issues with location of arm on its spindle or with the drive cable itself. Also can be problem with location of drive cable with the motor gear box.

Ok, had a good look. Yes the wipers can be returned to the park position manually, so definitely slack in the system.
Is this likely to be in the rack mechanism or the motor/gearbox ?
My gut feel is the rack mechanism as I can move the drivers side manually 2" before I see the passenger side move.

Probably just the wheel boxes worn. Two new ones and a new cable and you should be fine. Helped my son change his a few months ago in the dark and took less than a couple of hours

Thanks. Been looking at how to do that. Interestingly the vehicle came with some spares when I bought it 6 months ago, and these included 2 new wheel boxes ;)
