Hi Gents.

My 2005 L322 needs a new screen.

Best to give it to a main dealer to ensure I have a LR screen?

Cheers.

If you wish to have a genuine parts screen for any vehicle, is to purchase and have fitted by the vehicles main dealer.
You will find the windscreen replacement companies supply a screen thats very similar in its appearance to the manufacturers, it may be exactly the same or it may have the dot shading that's a slightly different but that's it.

My departed L322 needed a new heated screen after a small parking incident so the insurance covered the replacement, however I did not give them a chance to install a 'cheapy' and I insisted on a like for like replacement with the genuine etched Landrover logo.
If memory serves it was c.£780.....1st one ordered arrived broken 'in Transit', or it may of been a Sprinter?o_O

I presume you are paying for the replacement with your own foldings, that's madness surely?

It's maybe a 2 hour job in a car park so 3 days at a dealers is probably about right....
Regardless, I'd get some new blades on it pronto so you can fully savour the wonders of a brand new screen in winter!.:)
Ps.
If your a 'grab a gallon o' blue 5h!t3y liquid' at filling stations then mend your ways, "Decosol Excel super concentrated 500ml will make 50L of scoosh, active to -24deg and won't coagulate or smear like ALL other pretenders, [available at a motor factors near you...]:)

You mean it isn't In Edith the tea lady's contractual list of duties to do screens on Fridays buddied up with Jean from accounts providing she can clear her desk by 2pm, and her back is up to saw wiring after that unfortunate incident involving a unicycle and Bert from used car cleaning, has a bona fide up to date step ladder users certificate, not the fake one she's been winging it with for 17 years.....oh wait, I may have the wrong garageo_O;)
