I'm trying to stop water coming in through my windscreen brackets. I've replaced the gaskets and tried them in slightly different places but it still keeps coming in. I was wondering if I just use some sealant it'll stop the water. I was trying to avoid using sealant as its a pain to get of. I've been advised not to use general silicone sealant and to use a metal sealant.
Has anybody tried ths before? If so what's a good sealant. I've found this stuff but I'm pretty sure it's too strong

If just a small leak through capillary action some Captain Tolley's might work.

Ended up using some white shower sealant (my landy is white and I had some in the garage) around one of my brackets which cured.

Barely visible - just ran a bead and used a flat edge to 'push' in where bracket meets bulk head and wiped off excess

I used a thin bead of Butyl sealant, works perfectly.
I used the same stuff for sealing the seatbox, floor & transmission tunnel. Same stuff as in the strips but out of a tube.

+1 for not using chemical metal. way over the top for what you need and it'll be far worse to remove than regular silicone sealant. Personally i would just use some instant gasket. Its always worked well for me for keeping water out.
