Hello, does anyone know the Tax implications of putting rear windows in to Defender 90 Van.

Put plain non opening ones in my last van but as it was so old I didn't think anyone would worry. Now returning to Landrovers (after a few years on the dark side) and want to do the same on a newer van.

I think by doing this I may be changing its Taxation Class

Anyone know for sure ?

Thanks ..... Richard

It's still going to be "private light goods" so it won't change the tax class, the tax implications for changing "commercial" to "PLG" is about the initial VAT on the vehicle, which is nothing to do with the DVLA.

If you bought it and claimed the VAT back as a commercial vehicle, then converted it, it depends on the age of the vehicle, and would only possibly be picked up if you had an inland revenue/VAT visit on the business anyway.
