Try doing the job outside on an early cold and frosty January morning as I had to 14 years ago, after trying to drop the passenger window that was frozen forcing the regulator to go bang
Only to an hour but very fiddly to line up the regulator teeth to the motors drive cog in the exact position so the glass rises to the full height, which it didn't at first in my case, so motor and the regulator had to come out and readjusted and refitted back in the door. the reg had to be open to match the exact the height of the glass before fitting the motor which I this time did with both already in the door.
Haven't had any troubles with windows since, not that I use them much, just drop them every couple of months to clean the rim of the glass.
I see the Chinese copies at cheaper than the genuine part, but will they last as long.
