Hi,
Yestrday morning, whilst driving i lowered my drivers side front window and it moved to half way, a click then stopped.

I carried on pressing the switch and the motor was wurring around with clunks and the window would not move, i tried putting the window up and again you could hear the motor turning the opposite direction with clunking noises.

For security, i had to move the window back up manually in place with my hands.

I presume the window regulator has gone? Are they easy to replace?

Thanks for your time.

Lloyd.

Hi,yes regs very easy to change.Only held in with 4 bolts through door skin/panel.Bit fiddly to get in though but not difficult.

Are the regulator repair kits any good? or would it be easier buying the complete unit for £60.00?

Thanks.

I have had to replace all my wifes regs on her 3dr hippo, never even considered the repair kits (waste of time/money if you ask me)get a direct replacement either from a breakers or "the bay". If you get a good used reg, grease all the bare cables and work through before you actually install into your door.....Mind your fingers though,as they are quite quick....lol

Just did mine on Saturday. Try Land-Rover- Parts-shop.com, just under £50 for a good aftermarket complete unit.

the repair kits on flea bay are good . . . . .but its a reet fiddly job, better to get the whole unit :) :) :)

Inserting a complete unit, though fiddly is far more straight forward than trying to re-string wires, etc. (tried both) Worth shopping around for prices, though. I bought a front passenger side from Eurocarparts about 18 months ago for far less than the price they're asking for them now!! They're on Ebay for around £60
