L322 WILL NOT START ANYMORE

hi guys FINAL update on the L322 3.0td6 not starting.. she is FIXED took me 40 mintues after the checks so this is what i did in order..

1. checked all fuses (all fine)
2. checked all the earths i could get to (inculeding relays behind batt)
3. checked the battary voltage....drop test (fine)
4. power to starter (fine)

so worked out from there it must be the ignition switch.... found a new one (ebay) + local dealer £112.56 rang the local land rover specialist quoted £130+vat to fit it..... thought i will try it my self stripped the centre console wich is easy any one can do it and you dont have to remove it fully just lift it a little....i dropped the ignition barrel out and un pluged the switch i noticed the barrel is bmw made same as the engine part no.6901961 looked on ebay £15 so thought for that price no point playing about with this one..so i just cleaned the contacts and made sure it turned put it back in and made sure it was tight as its only 2 tiny srews that hold it place.. put the console back together took 15 mins went to start it fired stright way.... now fires first time EVERY time... so either was loose or a poor contact .. so cancelled the ebay part and will just keep an eye on it.. but for £15 i am not bothered also dealer said you some times get dimm or no ignition lights when turning the key so look out for that as i didnt.....

i can give full details on how to strip the centre if anyone needs them...
