the wipers seem to work ok when on constant.its when they are on delay or wash wipe they will just park where they want, even in the middle of the screen.
it feels like the switch to me but i could be wrong.
any ideas

Replace the switch

I have the same problem (wipers parking anywhere) but have been told it could be the "wires in the pot" in the wiper motor. Whatever that means?

Replacing the switch is certainly the cheaper option, as opposed to replacing the motor and a good place to start, but it may not solve the problem!
Ozzy, if you do try the switch and it works please post and let us know as I am due to atempt to sort mine soon.....Good luck.

If I use the flick wipe by pushing the stalk down, for a start the wipers will stop as soon as I let the stalk go, if I wiggle the stalk it seems to cure it and they will park.. always been ok on intermittent though..
prob good place to start is the switch

It's probably the motor's self park contact. There is a drum in the motor that has a contact on it that supplies power to the motor whilst the blades are out of the "park" zone. Sometimes there is a contact on the drum and sometimes the drum pushes a micro switch. It would also be worth checking fuse 3 just to make sure but tbh I don't think the wipers work at all if it's failed. The ccu controls the wiper motor in response to the various switches.

Bad luck with the switch, but with our cars that would have been to easy!

Beware of the 2nd hand motors on ebay as I bought one recently (trying to do the job on the cheap) and when I tested it before fitting, the bloody thing didn't work at all. Fortunately, I got my money back and the seller told me to throw it.

Not sure where from yet, but I will be looking at an after-market one in January as I don't think they are difficult to replace - Just a few nuts and bolts.

Apologies for bumping this up, but I am off to purchase a new wiper motor this week and wondered if the OP (Ozzyboy) had any luck with sorting his problem?

never got any further just parking them manually,as they work ok except on delay.
a motor would be next on the list

You can normally fix this by opening the motor and fixing the contacts or just bending them down to make correct contact with the rotating plate,

Done this on both of mine at verious points.
