That must of been about 50 quid then?
Scrapped my old man's p38 a while back I'm sure I got nearly £350 for it!

Bought a 4 year old Mondeo Gia X back in 2010, paid £6K from an indie. dealer.
Purely out of curiosity I put the details to WBAC a year later ... £600 for what was (then) a 5 year old car.

I know, I've always found their quotes laughable! Actually, almost insulting!! I for one would never use them!

I don’t think it’s silly money for a nice newish defender with low mileage. I might even consider paying that, if your were a well known garage or dealer with a good rep, and of course I would have warranty etc.
But to buy it of Joe Bloggs a few hundred miles away off eBay. I wouldn’t consider it, actually even less if it was a to good to be true bargain.

I would agree with the above comment. Its a lot of mmoney to hand over in a private sale.

You could approach one of the larger main dealers like guy salmon which has been rebranded as styner. They may take it and would pay by bank transfer in one go so peace of mind. They have the ability to sell it via their dealer network. Only issue is it may be on the age limit of what they take in. Worth asking. If you took it to them they would check its identity and condition, then give you a price. You don't need to buy a vehicle to do this. Clean and low miles being a selling point they like.

Not much good for the likes of you then ya filthy hairstylist!! :p
Ain't no dirt on my hippo yer filfy oik. :p
And his mileage is lower than the OP's anorl.

Ya can't keep using the same 50 year old recycled pictures of ya gaylanderer, not that I want to see an updated one you understand, but it would be a bit more poignant (that doesn't mean touching or anything Hippo) ;)

We tried selling the a small car which my eldest daughter learnt to drive in so nothing special (a Ford Fusion) and I filled out the form genuinely putting condition as 'Fair' etc since it was 8 years old and not showroom condition. They offered £800 but when they did their inspection it dropped to £420 because there were some stone chips and scuffs....
God knows what they would expect for Good condition and we just laughed at him and sold it provately for £750 to someone who wanted a car for their kid to learn to drive in

Looking at your previous posts, you paid £20,000 for it in 2021 from a family member.

However
Round here, newer low mileage Defenders sell for good money.

If that Defender is in pristine condition it would likely make £30,000 or more.

Give Hallam Brothers in Hayfield a call (0166374 3266) and see what they offer.
Ask for Ben.

lt will have to be a good one though, no rusty door mounting bolts, interior nice, crossmember not rusty, largely free from bodywork scabs, and no dents.

But the mileage is great. Try them and report back here on what they offer you.

Oh, and l might make you an offer for it, depending on what they offer, l would like a nice 2.2 110 with low mileage which would replace my 140,000 mile 2005 110 TD5 for my business.

This has become a possibility since Manchester scrapped their LEZ charging scheme, which would have meant £10 per day to take one of these off your drive.

ls that a Wrangler? l was looking at the LWB version but didn't get much love for it when l suggested it on here.

But it's about £15,000 cheaper than a new Defender

l've looked at the Sahara, don't need the extras on the Rubicon.
The big attraction for me is the petrol engine, l don't want diesel

However

The huge front bumper puts me off!! lt's truly massive and would annoy me every time l looked at it.

Back in the 'eighties I used to like the old Cherokee Chief but lost all interest in the brand once they stopped producing proper ones with straight sixes & V8's; the brand is totally emasculated today, first it was VW diesel power & now (I believe) it's a modified Fiat 500 floorpan

It's enough to make a petrolhead's blood run cold.
