I didn't notice it was in Ghana

In the UK any road the public have access to is deemed to be a public place so the road traffic act applies

I was in a supermarket car park a few weeks ago, a new Mercedes had a huge scrape down the side, easily £1500 worth of damage, whoever did it didn't stop but the car park is on CCTV so it's likely they'll be caught

Finally getting some answers today... The damage to the disco is reported to have been done by one of the company's vehicles. I haven't seen the footage myself and I doubt I ever will, so I dont have any details on the offending vehicle and what actually happened. I'll let you guys know how things progress from here on...

Good............ If company admits to it and covers the cost of repairs. You should be happy and satisfied. The end of a drama

Just about an hour ago, I was informed that I have to hand the disco over to the guys at the transport/logistics department who would go for a quote for the repairs, and presumably ensure its "done to standard"...
I was hoping for a cheque so when I found the time, I could have it repaired to my standard. I have to be offshore for a few days to attend to other tasks so I cant check in on the repair work myself...:(:( I just hope they dont muck it up.

Best of luck getting it sorted, will the company stump up for it?

You may struggle to get parts out here though, there doesn't seem to be an abundance of TD5 discos :(
Boris113, you currently out here too?? And have a land rover with you?
I got a mate who's been shipping out some of the required spares; though they're all mostly britpart and allmake4x4 parts.
He did manage to get me an ashcroft recon autobox and torque converter about a year ago, so hats off for him on that.

Well, the company does have a couple of defender rag-top pick ups and two LR3's that are serviced by the local dealership. I'm assuming its that same dealership they're going to contact to have the repairs done.
I would ask to have them wait on the repairs, but I'm scheduled to attend to so many pending jobs, the only time I can spare would probably be in early June...

ok,but i would wait until i could be there to keep an eye on things.june is not far away is it really.;)

So I'm told local dealership proposed replacing the the whole quarter panel at a jaw dropping price..:jaw:True, I'm not paying for it, but this is plain robbery. Its gonna take 14+ days to have the part delivered and repairs completed.
Anyway, I'm shipping out in the morning so disco is now in their care until I get back....

well come on tell us,how much is it.:D

Quote details dealership as charging an equivalent of about £1216 plus tax for parts and labour. An equivalent of £460 of that money is for the panel alone.... Quoted cost of sealants 'required' to install new panel, as well as new seal for the window and paint are simply eye-watering.
I gotta start me a dealership soon.;)
They contend the said part is aluminium and wont look quite right if any sort of repair work is done on it. Tear in the metal doesn't help either.

As long as the disco comes out better than it went in, I dont really care:D

I am indeed, although sadly my 90 is tucked away in the garage back in UK :(

Just managed to persuade the company to purchase a fleet of 110s and a few disco 4s out here though so I shall be able to steal/play with one of those soon :D

Which main stealer provided you with that quote? On the plus side, good news that you aren't paying for it!

If you ever need bits shipping out here than drop me a PM, we are shifting quite a few containers from UK to Tema then all around the country so I may be able to wedge bits in for you.
