who said a DIY drain pipe snorkel cant look good !

Gotta say it looks good, nice effort.

Yeah, think you just need to tidy up the lower joint, black jubilee and if possible maybe something like some heat shrink to cover the loose cut edges and make a 100% seal (if you can get heat shrink that big)
 
Im a builder and the plastic pipe is pretty robust you would have a job breaking it even with a hammer, its designed to be outside in the cold so cant see it being a problem, they make aluminium downpipe which is the same size so you could use that and just paint it black, i think its looks pretty good too.

The Lindab stuff is a good system.....much prefer it to plastic and is easy to fit......

Downpipe offcuts just happen to make decent snorkles :D
