Which oil?

Hi to all members. I am the proud owner of a 2005 Range Rover Vogue 300 TDI. Having recently bought this vehicle, I have to say it has become a love affair. Where possible I like to do my own oil/filter changes,and I am here to learn from you guys. Can anyone recomend the best engine oil for my motor,,and does it need a "Low Ash" formula,? Also,,is it fitted with a Particulate Filter?
This is a great forum,and I look forward to reading all the threads.

Have I joined a bunch of cynics? I am asking for advice ,,not critiscism of my username.
Ive had two replies so far,,both think its a joke that I am called Lubeman.

I worked underground for 30 years servicing mining machinery.Do any of you smartarses know what oils I used ??????

im cycnical that its a 2005 range rover 300 tdi, seeing as they never put a 300tdi in a l322, but you might know better.Hell ive never seen the motor have I?

if your motor has a particulate filter then you need to use the low ash type oil.dont see your arse on here because you will get ripped out mate.just go with the flow until you see how this forum works.yes you will get the **** taken out of you,but eventually you will get the answer to your question.plus as no doubt you will be told,if you dont like the forum you can always fook off to LRO if you want.

Yeah yeah,,,Im an old doris,,some of us are not as clever as the wits on here,,I cant help it if these guys arent gettin their jollies with mrs ,,,,suppose this is one of the few ways to compensate,,eh? shame,and heres me thinkin this was a site to help and share Land Rover knowledge.
