I think the Nissan X-Trail is out of the question as there's not enough room in the boot for the dogs.
I have the back seats folded forward in mine so the dogs have loads of room. The X-Trail doesn't seem to have very good headroom and one of my dogs is quite tall! I'd like a Mitsubishi Shogun Warrior really but I don't think I'll have enough money.
So what about the reliability of the TD4 then?

My work takes me up hill and down glen every week. For off road capability the freelander is best vehicle I've had!

SPIT!!!!! MRS MING. . . .EEZE AT IT AGINX-Trail does have a bigger boot than the Hippoo, is reliable and compares well with the Hippoo offroad. Crap compared with real Land rovers, but is a better alternative to a Hippoo.
