hi guys, thanx for all the advice so far, you were right about the rear diff mount, booked my beauty in for a new one so next on the list is the egr bypass... I cleaned the egr but now want to order a egr bypass.

there's quite a few on ebay ranging from £25 upto the allisport egr bypass for £70, is the allisport one worth the money? Or could someone point me in the direction on the most suitable choice.

also want to order that bmw pcv filter so if anyone knows the best place to order that id much appreciate it, in off on holiday in the next few days with the Mrs an kids so got my Freelander booked in for the rear diff mounts on the 14th then ill put the new bypass on an do the oil filter, on a plus note the mechanic said my vcu looked alright so that's some money saved there, you guys are stars an thanx for all the help.

I bought the Alisport EGR bypass. It's well made, looks the part and works. Whether or not it's worth the money depends on your point of view. For me - yes.

The best place to get the BMW PCV filter is... BMW.

Do u know the parts number by any chance , just the filter though an not the full piece, cheers mate appreciate the help, allisport it is.

Ok just ordered the allisport egr next up is silicone hoses, does the 2002 td4 have sensors? As in looking at the dph silicones hoses an they do the full set of hoses but it asks whether you want the hoses with or without sensors? Ohhh my little beauty is going to be running so much smoother soon hopefully then after that its the synergy box an then ill start getting the side steps etc happy days

without sensors, think its the facelift model that has them

when u fit ur egr bypass check ur vacuum pipes for holes , plus always a good idea to clean out the 90 degree bend on the egr from oil

Cheers mate, cant wait to have my beauty running properly, now off for a nice 10 days in majorca with the family an ill be nice an chilled for when i come back an get this all done...

the egr kits do indeed seem to be of different quality , made a big change when i replaced mine

then on fitting the synergy box got rid of the flat spot

meant to say if its an auto feed the wires through the place where the clutch should be, theres a nice one inch hole in the bulkhead, put some trunking in so can feed wires though at a later date if needed

reminds me i must send my synergy back to get it updated and want to replace my 3 way toggle switch with one thats sits behind a push button switch so looks nicer

Cheers guys, in getting excited , cant wait to have her all fixed up, by the end of august ill have all these little bits done then it will be time to go for the big bits an start saving lol, ill get a nice new clutch as mine is on its way out, then the vcu, then the synergy box, then ill be proper rolling haha ohhh where does it stop.... I loved that modded up Freelander on the other thread an its gave me a load of ideas although will take lots of saving an a fair bit of time.

I wanna order it asap so its all here for when i get back off holiday , egr on its way, the lr garage has the rear diffs in stock an ready an ice got my oil filter ready for the oil change, now i just need the pcv ordered an it will all be done on the 14th fingers crossed ready for a nice camping trip in late august from London to loch lamond in Scotland.

Hi guys was just on the phone to bmw about the pcv / crankcase breather , well anyway i was given the parts number 111277992224 but that's the wrong parts number. Anyone got the right one? Cheers guys, honestly id have been lost without you guys, id still be stuck on the leaking hose lol,

Rich

That's the right one. I have one here that I plan to fit tomorrow if the rain holds off.

List for tomorrow: Full service, replace front brake discs, calipers and pads, EGR removal, Silicon hoses and then go and bang on my mate's door to get my Synergy (from my previous Freely) back from him as after 3 years he still hasn't fitted it!!!

Now that's a good list mate, new brake pads will be going on my list too now, also ill look into the heavy steering.. Oh this list is never ending, got into my old mans nissans kashqui today an forgot how light the steering is, was wondering if that's just normal though considering my Freelander td4 is 2002 an this is a 2 year old unleaded qashqui?

Well the rain didn't hold off so only had time to do the hoses and all the filters, do the EGR and that was it. May do the calipers this evening - too blooming hot out there at the moment!
