The discos been fine and used most of the day today, so I get in it about 4ish today and the battery flat, just turned over real slow.
So can I battery go bad like that?

Also what battery should I get, there are loads on flea Bay that fit, but I'm unsure

Any ideas

Many thanks

I agree with Tony, the C31-1000 type battery (120 Ah, 1000CCA) is the type you need.
Tayna are a battery supplier who can supply batteries to that spec from a number of different manufacturers, in many cases the only differences are the sticker on the side and the price. I opted for the Powerline battery and so far I've had no problems.
In the Disco 2, it is definitely what could be called "a snug fit", but it does fit.
Delivery is usually overnight by courier.
It's unusual for a battery to go as you say "bad just like that", but it can happen. I would also advise that you check the charging voltage with a voltmeter (digital multimeter) across the battery terminals. With the engine running above tickover you should get around 14.5 +/- about 0.3 volt.

OK will give that a shot now and post back

Sooooo,
Got my jump pack out and the disco started fine, let it run for a couple of minutes, turned it off, then it started up fine again, left it for a bit, nope flat battery.
So got my" better"volt meter has decided that its not going to work tonight. So out with my trusty old one and it sort of shows 14v when running,
All belts seem to be there as well:oops:

And......
When I told the missus the battery was flat she said its been a bit slow on starting over the last couple of days ,:mad:
The good news is though she wants to use it on Saturday so plenty of time to fix it

So got one of these coming tomorrow hopefully, so shall see how it goes, I did measure it, and it will be a snug fit

I thought you’d have gone with the Tanya ones they looked a bit cheaper than mine. They’re not as snug as the measurements look. I’m pleased with the Hankook ones though

By the time you add postage I thought they were pretty much the same price ,
I also didn't realise that Tanya one you could pay via PayPal as well

Many thanks Neil

I hope it fits ok then, as I see the terminal posts are in the middle of the depth of the battery not at the front. I know many have had problems with particularly the earth lead being long enough to reach the terminal with this type of battery. Don't know why you didn't get the Tanya with discount, and wouldnt have had that problem as they are at the front, with the correct terminal orientation, negative on the left at the front.........

Tony

Always check your earth clamps and clean up the connections on the earth strap before changing the battery. I've had a few issues because of a corroded/broken strap. Always a good idea to add additional ones as well.

Maybe I'm being stupid, but it looks to me that the Tanya one has terminals in the middle as well, I guess thats what you mean.
I'm sure it will be fine
