which alternator

Hi all,just wondered if there is an easy way to find out which alternator my 02 td4 gs uses (make and amperage) it does have aircon & a heated back window but no heated seats etc,does anyone know which one it is ? ta much in advance

If you can clean the dirt off you can normally see the ident label on the top when looking down on the alternator past the oil filter. Mines a 2002 GS S/W and has a VALEO YLE000070 (150Amp) fitted. This part number was superceeded by YLE500170. I understand a later part is interchangeable with the earlier (not sure what the difference is). If you need a new one try E-bay. A firm in Manchester / Salford were advertising these for around £110 outright buy (normally around the £180 - 200 mark).
