Evening all

The mrs has asked me what i want for xmas.

I was thinking of a mud stuff dash with some addition gauges, and switches etc.

So my question to you all, what additional gauges have you got fitted in your vehicles, and which ones do you value most. I know this is abit hard to say, because everyone is different, and has different requirements.
However it would be nice to know what you all use, look at mostly and what may have saved your vehicle from damage.
It will be for a 300tdi defender.

Thanks

.... Oh and feel free to post pictures of your mud stuff dash consoles.

Oil pressure, charging, temperature (better than original one in dash)

Switches for work lights, spot lights, winch controls.

I have a Raptor dash which has the gauges as above plus spot light switch, work light switch, rear fog light switch, 12v plug, left and right electric window switches plus stereo and CB.

Im fitting rev guage, several temperature sensors, several voltmetres, oil pressure guage. Loads of stuff

Although it is going in my V8 rear rad challenge truck that will have 3 batterys 2 winches etc etc :D

I'd fit a clock .. I could maybe work out the real speed I'm doing then .. ;)

I can tell you the one that isn't - the stupid thing (inclometer or something?) often found in Jap off-roaders, that tells you when you are about to roll over!

nah, they are a good laugh trying to see how far until you bottle it.

there isn't any thing level enough on my landy as a reference point to fit one

Pyrometer, oil pressure, turbo boost, battery volts, rev counter
That'll do as my extras on the ol Tdi
Like the idea of some extra water temp sensing too

EGT, Oil pressure, oil temp (as Ive always found oil to change temp before the water) volts, boost are my extras :)
Revs pointless on a deisel imo, your never going to need to rev it high enough to need to monitor.

you can also use the turbo to judge peak power as well.

I installed a boost gauge after owning this 90 for 3 years, it boosts to 1.8 bar  something to look at soon

you running a larger intercooler? i'd have thought you would have caused damage going that high with stock.

Standard size. When I tow like I will be this morning I don't plant my foot to the floor or I never give it full throttle for long, mechanical sympathy
