i opened the small fuse box up again today ,has 3 30amp fuses in it ,checked them all good

next was the two relays
1.

2.

they both seem good ,got someone to turn the heater on while i placed my hands on the relays ,both energised as they should and do nothing if heating is not on ,so i assume that def means they are for the PTC

now all i have to do is find the bloody thing ,had a look earlier and still cant see it :violent::violent::violent:

Never noticed the click until you mentioned it, and yes mine clicks too. But still no warm air till the engine warms up.

never noticed the click either till today, but mine is a L-series, since it's one of the last ones might they have fitted a heater unit with PTC they had on the shelf waiting for the Td4 to go in production

Certainly don't get a blast of warm air, think it's just enough to help demist the screen whilst the coolant warms up (or maybe mines not working either :( )

that reminds me of the old days in the 60's in a Morris minor van it had a 12 volt heater and nothing else ,in those days you were lucky to have a heater in a car. and I can remember seen a car for sale on a garage for court with a sign on saying this car has a heater.

hi

didnt know it had one fitted nor heard of these ptc heaters, like an idiot didnt mark the wires when i unplugged it and know spent hours in trying to find the wires

hope people didnt mind me doing a post ref ptc heating wires req

thks again

Haynes says...

Fuel pump which you must have
Stater same
Hill decent....
Main relay
Horn presume you got working
Aircon...
And that's your lot in there

My book covers 97-2002

And the pic shows same type as rest visually...

hi

thks mate but it doesn't show the wiring for the ptc heater im afraid

really annoying as after getting off the phone with my local dealer they said if i get it to them , which is impossible cause its in bits they will have a look which is out of the question due to costs and for them to just plug in 3 wires

still cant find the anything and dont know what to do now, cars all in bits
