where to add gearbox oil 1994 tdi

Hi I'm new on here, I have a 1994 discovery tdi I was just wondering where to check the oil level in the gearbox and where to top up as this is my first landrover.

Only way to check is fill it til it runs out of the hole.

Is it easy to access as I have been under with a torch and nothing stuck out.

I have still not found the gearbox oil filler plug on my 1994 discovery tdi. Could anybody help me out? Only had it two weeks and loving it. I would just like to check the levels to put my mind at rest.

dont that say 200TDi to you, not 300TDi?

if so - yup a 200TDi has a square lump on the filler plug.

Okay thanks. What would be the best gearbox oil to use I hear there are many types. Also do you top up the diffs with the same stuff or something else.

No, transferbox and diffs take EP90.

Have a look in in my guides and ye'll see roughly what goes where.
