 what a welcome to the forum :D

I'd consider myself a citizen of the world too, being of two nationalities, having lived all over and having no distinct accent. No really strong allegiance to any particular nation, though Britain would be among my favourites (despite how much I complain) :p

I live by the principle of this quote of Mahatma Ghandi :
" Be the change you want to see in the world "

There is many to be discussed about the roots of evil, the reasons that lead someone to become infected with hatred, and greed. In my opinions, all human beings are capable of love and it is the lack of communication that alienates us away from each other.
Many economical, political and social criterias can influence greatly the behavior of someone.
Should I blame a starving beggar for stealing me? Who am I to judge someone for desiring just as much as me to survive in this aggressive world ?
And, though I may understand that this struggle to survive is justified, I will not be afraid to defend myself.

I would not like to derail this thread with yet another philosophical discussion that, as interesting in terms of thought-sharing it may be, will only lead to further expansions.
So, If you desire to continue this conversation, then you may PM me, as I would be interested in hearing your ideas, and thoughts about the roots of the evil in our world.

star trek world would be nice in some ways, but would lose the diversity of the world, but where diversity means the subjection of some should you support it ,western attitude in the past may have seemed poor but what other now wuld replace it

I am not familiar with the Star Trek Universe, though being quite a fan of Science-fiction literature.
If I may assume, that as in any archetypal space-travel related theme, the plot
is centered around the colonization of deep space, and intergalactic wars among the ruling empires.
It is in a sense, quite an interesting metaphor to the world's struggle through the globalization, in the context of the first spatial conquests we are witnessing to this days.
Surely, we may compare the assimilation of colonized nation's through cultural impregnation such as the immigration politics of England to the colonizing past of the Empire. But could we say the same if the human race is to face another subjective form of spatial being ?
To me, the cultural capital is far more valuable than the economical capital.
In the end, money has the value that you wish to give it, just as much as an abstract ideal as any religion or cultural belief.
Once we learn to appreciate history, more than economics, we may come to terms of peace regarding the human race's diversity.

you could do if you were a pc religious believer as most seem to be ,or you could just see it as a parody or appeasement or guilt any have no value

Perhaps this should be taken to Anything Goes to avoid derailing the thread :p

It would be reasonable not to off-road here, indeed.
However so I apprehend the idea of opening such a wild field of philosophical salon in fear of technical difficulties to lead this discussion efficiently, as a newly registered member. I might be yet too inexperienced to host in good and due form such an evening ''literary mechanicals gentlemen and ladies book club"!
However, I reiterate my proposition to continue this discussion by MP, to anyone who is willing to share thoughts and ideas on the world with me.
