My pre Defender 110 still has the 3 ribbed roof on it but I was wondering when they stopped. Was it in '91 when they actually started marketing them as Defenders?
My 1990 110 has the ribs on the inside.
Yeah perhaps I should have been more clear, what I meant was mine didn't have external ribs. I think there was internal ones under the roof lining. My 1990 110 has the ribs on the inside.
I've got a ribbed 110 roof from 1989 going to go chop it up later this week to make my king cab roof
The roof was changed from external ribs to internal ribs on the 1989 Model Year - so, from late 1988 onwards.
My 'G' Reg. 110 Hardtop, which I bought new in October 1989, has an internally ribbed roof.
They changed back to small external ribs, at some point during TD5 production.

you said you done that all ready............. Or is it fix a f@@k up time
That sounds about right, mine was a late "F" reg (just before the G came out) and had the smooth roof. I remember reading before I took delivery of mine that they were changing. The roof was changed from external ribs to internal ribs on the 1989 Model Year - so, from late 1988 onwards.
