Good afternoon landyzone,

I have had my 90 for around 5 months now and absolutely love it. Originally I had liked the wheels that came with it but after sticking my spare on I love the look even more. Picture attached, original on rear, spare on front.

Someone once told me what the 5 spoke wheels were called, I think they are made for off roading with the valve guard. Does anybody know? I have looked through the forum for 5 spoke wheels in case it triggered my memory but couldn't find anything.

Cheers.

Thanks Flossie. Thats them...spot on. Do you know if there is a way of telling they are genuine, i have seen similar wheels without the valve guard.

There are no markings on the genuine ones, copies will have markings I guess. Valve guard was an option which I didn't want so I haven't got them.
I 'think' the copies are cast alloy rather than steel but not sure about that.

The alloy "copies" are ZU, a very strong rim and a real alternative to the Mach 5, clearly marked ZU on the outer rim and all the manufacturing load details on the inside.
The steel copy you may be referring to is the Challenger, far cheaper than the Mach 5 (and ZU).

My old ZU's, long since sold on...….

Cheers Litch. I have had a look at mine this evening, they have no markings on them and are Steel. I am interested in moving them on for different wheels, just want to make sure I know exactly what I'm moving on.
