Hi guys, just wondering what, if any, the benefits if fitting wheel spacers to a freebie might be, obviously I get the extra space for wider tyres etc, but ate there any other benefits....and what sort of width spacers are suggested? What is the maximum before hub adapters etc are needed?

Cheers peepz, hope you've all enjoyed the snow lately! :)

I run 235/55 17 tyres which are, in my opinion as wide a tyre as you can safely fit. Any wider in 17" will foul the spring cups. I have approx 7mm of clearance.

In order to fit my 9mm chains to the front I use a 10mm spacer which does not need longer studs.

When I also need a second set of chains on the rear wheels I use 7mm spacers.

I go places where they don't grit the roads.

Some of the places I go don't have roads. LOL

Im looking to gradually get further and further off road! At the moment i have slightly knobbly A/T tyres, but looking into some Sahara Turbos. but with my little TC control problem( or lack off!) , and the fact im still in the process of getting the parts together to refit my VCU and Prop, the little freebie quivers at the slightest bit of mud on the road! :( best get that sorted first!!
