I have just bought some mach 5 wheels with 255/70xR16 tyres off ebay for my disco 2.On left hand lock the tyre hits the right hand wheel arch but on right hand lock there is plenty of room on the left hand arch. Is there any adjustment i can ?

Steering lock might just need to be put a little short, I had mine adjusted when it did this after fitting larger tyres

Never mind wrong kind of rubbing, thinking of something different

Kudos on the 5's though,

tracking dosent effect lock ,steering needs setting central by first centralising box count turns lock to lock place in center wherever wheels or steering wheel may be ,centralise wheels using drag link ,centralise steering wheel after by removing wheel or removing steering linkage to box and refitting with steering wheel correct,it does want doing as steering box needs to run central

Hi James, the steering seems central, the right hand wheel seems to be about 10mm further forward than the left,it seems as though it needs to move back a little.I cant see anyway of doing this, the wheels i took off had 255/60r16 tyres on .I cant see any sign that there has been any damage underneath. I am totally stuck.

Its hard to tell but i think right hand lock is a little more. I took a measure from inside of tyre to chassis on each lock and right hand seems to be 2cm more

center steering count exactly turns and parts of from center to full lock both ways, and from one lock to other ,ie if total lock to lock is 3 turns center should be 1.5 turns

Mr Noisy i think you are right it looks perfect but i put a bent a plastic ruler along both sides and the right side is definately back 10-15mm. I will take off bumper and see if i can pack right side out

If you have the time for a bit more detailed instruction that would be great. I am just going out to have a go at the bumper now, we are taking the horse trailer out first thing in the morning.
