What's difference between the wheel bearings on the earlier FL1 [to 1A999999] and those for the latter or facelift FL1 [from 2A000001]?
I ask because I think I fitted a later model's wheel bearing to my earlier model FL by mistake. I've just replaced the Left wheel bearing using p/n# RFC000010 @ about £18. It has a magnetic dodah on one face...
I just wanted a bearing so that's what I ordered as I had a new strake nut on hand... and reused the circlip. Rimmers say RFC000010 is no longer available and to use LRO41425... Is this going to be a problem? It all seemed to press together securely and there's no 'play' anywhere and it passed its WoF [your MoT] inspection.
Anyway my inner front right CV boot / gaiter has a split in it now and I was pricing a replacement and thought I'd do the right wheel bearing at the same time... Now this side has never been dismantled by me and I recall how tough the left side was when I first did it, so am anticipating a fight with the d'shaft splines being seized in the drive flange.
I see that there is a kit p/n # ANR5861 [ comes with a circlip, nut & bearing] @ £44.50 which is for the earlier FL1. There is another bearing: p/n# LRO41425 @ £26.24 which is for latter FL1 and the rear of the FL2. That kit is quite expensive as the later OEM bearing is £26 and the kit is £44! Makes the circlip & nut about £10 each!
