wheel bearing ??

hi guys,
driving to work last week a (9 mile trip) a mile to go and a squeal makes it's self known on a roundabout, it happens on very little right hand lock full lock n nothing and just loud enough to let you know its there it's not constant as in you need to do a few miles before it makes a noise, i thought wheel bearing but dont they rumble not squeal,
any ideas chaps

Mine defo rumbling but can decide whether its front or rear??? Yours could be a seized caliper making brake squeel????? Worth a look

had the wheel off yesterday n its not as free as it could be i must admit,lots of wd or a strip down ?

strip down wheel bearings wont run on wd, is it not as free as it should be because of caliper or bearings

As JM said strip down and have a look. And if in doubt change em. Wheel bearings are a piece of pi** to change and don't cost a lot either.

Just make sure you replace them with timkin bearings if you do change them. I always have a few spare sets in the back of my disco just in case. Along with necessary gasket and tools.

Not the brake pad rubbing is it? Our Discovery sometimes makes a noise from the pads at the front, even though they are Mintex. A light touch on the brake will stop it.

just looked at the caliper the pistons were ****ted right up hell of a job to move them cleaned them up a bit so they work better just need to bleed to see if it's done the trick if its worked then i will strip n rebuild when i have more time

dont use wd use brake fluid to lube pistons if you need to ,youy can clean pistons up if corroded with fine emery tape or strips of fine wet and dry, wedge the other 3 pistons and carefully use pedal to press 1 piston out ensuring its not fully out , worth check wheel bearings as noise on cornering might suggest some play and disc pushing against a pad when cornering
