Does anyone know the distance from the top of tyre's to the underside of the wheel arch on the P38 when the suspension is on the bump stops (I hope that makes sense) ?.I have been offered a set of wheels with a larger offset and and I want to check if I buy and fit the wheels have a suspension problem and it drops to the bump stops I don't end up with the tyre's jammed under the arch's.

Hi Datatec Well at the moment the outside edge of the wheel's are just inside the arches ,if they stick out more the arch may come down on the shoulder of the tyre .I have measured the gap from the bump stops to the axle and I think there is clearance above the tyre so that it's possible to steer when its on the bump stops, but its not easy trying to work out how much the bump stops will compress .That is a very good point you have made about the weight rating of the wheels they are second hand so I don't think I will ever know for sure ,so better safe than sorry goodbye wheels .

l have 22inch wheels fitted l found that problem when a hard fault occured no lap top had to get nice man from rac to get me home fixed the fault now carry datateks cable and lap top

Yes I think you are right about the weight rating of the wheels I don't want any problems so I will give them a miss .Were do I get this cable and software?. I was going to get the thing that plugs into the socket in the passenger foot well can't remember what its called at the moment.
