I need some advice on what appears to be some sort of tuning device fitted to my DSE.
Diesel tec 2000 ? ive searched the web and found nothing.
The photos show the 2 points of connection into my loom but the sigle wire was disconnected and the blue wire on the loom has the insulation pared off so you would think it goes there but ive driven the car with it connected and disconnected and can feel no difference so it either doesnt work or it doesnt go to the pared wire.
If i remove it completely will i have to reconnect the wires that have spade connectors on them?
If i want to install a tuning box which is the best cheap option? ive looked at powerbox but would like to spend half the money, possible?

Looks to be a tuning box. A connection to MAP sensor i could understand. Reason it's connected to MAF eludes me.

Well as i said it doesn't seem to be doing anything to improve the performance so i think i'll remove it. What do i do with the 4 wires on the spade connector? will they need joining back together? I assume its 2 wires in the loom interrupted by this box's wiring??

Any suggestion on an affordable tuning chip?

i have a psi powerbox which i find very good , i did buy it secondhand a new one is about 450 euro. it gives a much better gearchange on an auto and a good lift in power

Was thinking of a power box myself but was nervouse about it fecking the gearbox up
as i do tow a caravan regular
Was wondering if it can be put on a switch or even a relay from the sport button to turn it off when not needed?

Not sure about switching it but it only 2 plugs so if you didn't want to use it just disconnect and put your loom plugs back together?
I'm not sure of the possible effects of towing with the powerbox, but better safe than sorry eh?
