What's this suv (open) mean ?

When I check for parts for my 5 door TD4 on places like the bay, on the compatibility list it sometimes says suv (open), same year but my Landy comes up as incompatable. Can't find any explanation on line, so what is it ??
I know someone will enlighten me.lol

suv = sports utility vehicle
open = I guess means 3 door soft top

Yeh Hippo I get the suv bit, but on parts like an egr blanking kit surely the BMW engine would be the same I would have thought on the 3 or 5 door.

Just checked again on the bay, and it does say under "body style" SUV (open), but it baffles me why it wouldn't fit a 5 door though, same engine.....or is it ???

I think it's more a case they list every option of vehicle as they're covering all eventualities of options. When you put the part on you can select yerself which are ok or it does it for you as it's learnt from history etc.

Ebay compatibility list is a joke. Always contact the seller if in doubt, then check again somewhere else cause you'll have pay postage to send it back if it's wrong.

Or end up with a pile of stuff you cant be bothered sending back mounting in garage and spending double as still have to buy the correcr part.
