Hello peoples
Bought another classic today, an early 4 door again but long stick manual this time...... I've only just managed to get the other one in the workshop this week and will be starting the inner wings next week, this new one will be put in a container for a year or so waiting it's turn... In the mean time, the panel across the top of the windscreen has rotted out, and I mean ROTTED!! Is there a replacement panel available or is it a case of finding a good one from a breaker and cutting it out? And if it's the latter, are they different on later years?

If you're talking about the bulkhead below the deck panel then no there are no repair panels.

You have to fabricate of cut out sections of a good'un.

The bulkheads are the same right up to the softdash which is different. ;)

I guess you mean the top edge of the windscreen frame? No repair panels available that I'm aware of so a chunk from a scrapper or repair yours really. Pretty sure hard/soft dash all the same here

Or a complete roof?
They are bolted on (known as a floating roof) There were variations in the pressings over the front seats in later years & a factory (metal) electric sunroof was available from 1988, later replaced by a glass version.

I think you mean the panel that runs across the top of the screen that the screen seal rubber pushes onto.
This is not part of the roof & AFAIAA there is no replacement piece for it so it's a cut one off a scrapper job if it can't be repaired.
There is a 'how to' somewhere - possibly on one of the LZ forums - for it but it required roof removal & they used a whole piece off a scrapper rather than trying to repair the remains of the old one. Welding a brace across the A pillars was used to stop things getting out of place & helping to locate the replacement before cutting the old one off.
ETA It's the piece of the bodyshell that runs from left to right (A pillar to A pillar) as you look at the pic by the '1' in this diagram.
