Dear all, I have a 90 SWB 2.5 Diesel which is ex MOD. Spent the first 30 years of its life on Cyprus so the chassis is in fantastic condition. Can anyone please let me know what part is shown in the centre of the attached pic (attached to the driver side chassis leg). It's the part 'liberally' coated in oil or fluid. Is it a compensating valve for the brake system? Guidance welcomed.

Cheers

Chris

Looks like it should be the brake bias/shuttle valve to shut off supply if there is leak. but usually for the later ones the fronts would be plumbed through it as well.

That looks to be it! Thankyou all for your help...incredibly useful. I guess I need to go into Sherlock Holmes mode and track down a replacement or see if it can be refurbed. ThanQ. Chris
